Our History

Shipton’s Heating & Cooling Ltd is now celebrating its 99th year of providing Hamilton and the surrounding areas with quality service and total home comfort. We’ve always kept our focus on what matters most – our customers.

In 1924 John E. Shipton opened Shipton’s Heating & Cooling Ltd. The original shop was located in a three-car garage in the North end of Hamilton. After a few years had passed, Shipton’s moved to Kenilworth Street where it has been stationed for over 75 years. Shipton’s Heating & Cooling Ltd is currently owned and operated by Dave and Tim Shipton who are the grandsons of John E. Shipton. Our company has developed a reputation for providing consistent quality in both service and product lines. Shipton’s has kept generations of loyal customers and continues to attract new ones with each passing day.

We take great pride in the people we employ. All of our installers and service technicians are fully licensed. They also remain committed to upgrading their skills along the way. Some of our employees have been with the company for more than 15 years and others have retired after providing 30 years of quality service. Our motto has always been that:

“This is a family business. Everyone who works here is family.”

We offer a wide range of furnace and air conditioner product lines such as Coleman, Bryant, and Goodman. We also have an Indoor Air Quality division of Shipton’s called CleanAir Solutions; offering many products including Indoor Air Quality Testing, Heat Recovery Ventilators, Humidifiers, De-Humidifiers, HEPA filters, and Duct Cleaning.
